George Willima

Overview

Based in Lundazi, Eastern Province, George has been a Headman for more than 20 years and is an Induna and representative of Chief Kapichila.

Currently, George is a Headman for 2 villages in Chief's area; the villages have a combined total of 120 households with a population of around 1,000 subjects. The Kapichila Chiefdom comprises 400 villages. 

He has a vital role at MTS, working in partnership with key stakeholders including traditional leaders, highlighting the challenges rural communities face when accessing appropriate healthcare. 

Facilitating site visits and meetings including health posts, hospitals, community pharmacies, nursing and midwifery schools between our MTS team and clinical, operational, administrative staff as well as essential volunteer groups, providing real insight into the complexities and logistical challenges faced every day.
